Snowflakes Up Close

I didn't have to work today and while sitting at the computer, I looked out to see some larger snowflakes again today. Still having my close-up lens ready, I headed outside and was able to find some isolated flakes. I'm still trying to dial in the focus, maybe by the end of winter I will be a lot closer. These were shot at f5.6, 1/20 sec, ISO 100 with numerous close-up filters (two +4 and three +2) attached to my 18-55 mm lens zoomed as close as possible.

  7. I just had to share. I was scrolling through the blog just now and, having seen this post all ready, scanned right past it. My son is sitting here with me (keeping me warm lol) and is watching tv. Suddenly I hear from behind me "Hey, how'd you get so close?" I asked what he was talking about and he said "the snowflakes". He was very interested in how you were able to get such clear shots of the flakes. He has recently become interested in photography (I've done my job lol), and thought this was pretty cool!
